Three things happen every time this group meets.

Connect

Sit down with other caregivers who are living a version of your journey. Trade what's worked, what hasn't, and what you wish someone had told you sooner.

Learn

Each meeting is resource-rich: guest speakers, home and school resources, IEP and 504 guidance, and plain answers about how special education actually works in Cecil County Public Schools.

Lead

Bring a concern or a win. We'll help you decide whether it's something the group carries to the school board together, or something you'd rather learn to say yourself.

A direct line to the district, so what's raised in the room doesn't stay in the room.

Raise a shared concern at a meeting and, where there's common ground, SECAC can bring it to the school board as a collective voice — often more effective than one family raising it alone.

On Your Own

We help you find your own words.

Sometimes it's your story to tell. We'll help you get clear on what you're asking for and how to say it, so you can advocate for your child directly and with confidence.

Come as you are. Bring a question, a concern, or nothing at all.

You don't need to be an expert on special education to belong here — that's what the group is for.
